Notes | Mud Lurkers wait motionless, submerged in large communities of 20-40 Lurkers. They do not cooperate intelligently, but do share large kills. Mud Lurkers feed on the blood of warm-blooded ani- mals and possess a necrotising venom in their bite that increases blood flow and produces hallucinations. Lurkers have a limited capacity to expand the mud around their communities by break- ing up soil and introducing fluids from dissolved carcasses and their own strange secretions. Rainy season is a time for great expansion. Lurkers have a dark, segmented shell, long legs, and four large claws. They move by quick scuttling and sudden leaps.
