Notes |
An ellylldan or ‘elf-flame’ is a minor spirit found in marshes. On misty nights they
often manifest, appearing as motes of light, often blue or green in colour, that float slowly amongst the reeds. Some believe them to be the ghosts of the drowned that have not found the Otherworld, and call them ‘corpse candles’.
Spirit Abilities: Elfshot (see text), Manifestation, Spellcasting
Ellylldanau seem to enjoy leading people astray, but equally might lead someone lost in the marshes back to safety. The touch of a manifested ellylldan provokes a Spectral Combat roll opposed by the victim’s Willpower. If it succeeds, the spirit loses all Magic Points and is banished. The victim is left elfshot, a sickness which is part physical and part spiritual.
Roll the Hit Location affected, and then determine the effects on the table above, by rolling 1d6. The effects of elfshot require treatment by a druid (simulated by Spirit Combat against the ellylldan), after which time the symptoms gradually fade over the course of a week.
