Notes A powerful predator in the same family as the might tyrannosaurus rex, the ceratosaurus is another bipedal dinosaur that runs its prey down and uses its fangfilled jaws to tear off huge chunks of meat from them. Unlike most of the others in its family however, the ceratosaurus is also equipped with several bony growths on its head and muzzle that it can use to batter a target to the ground before it begins its feast. A ceratosaurus is still a large creature, slightly longer than six metres from snout to tail, and four in height. It is covered in thick, knobbly hide and bears the same general body shape as a tyrannosaur. With the exception of its size and the bony ‘horns’ on its head, the two dinosaurs are nearly identical.
