Notes |
Kraan are large reptilian-looking flying spawn, with membranous black wings equipped with sharp talons. They have long necks and large jaws filled with sharp teeth. Their lean bodies are covered with a leathery dark-grey hide and their feet have razor-sharp claws that they employ to fearsome effect when diving down upon their chosen target.
Kraan will likely be encountered with a rider seated astride their back. But is not uncommon for them to be used without riders, particularly when they are sent to scout areas of forest, or to seek targets of opportunity and attack them.
They have very good eyesight and can detect movement on the ground from height of up to 10,000 feet (3.3 kilometres). Kraan will always attack in a dive, unless they are mounted and their rider chooses not to.
***Special Rules***: A riderless Kraan will always attack horses in preference to any other creature type. If a Kraan kills a horse, it will attempt to land and feast upon its carcass. This is when they are at their most vulnerable.
***Typical Armour***: Thick Hide. No Armour Penalty.
Sometimes Head and body scale-plate adds 4 AP; -3 SR)
***Kraanblade***: This is an incredibly sharp metal blade attached to harnesses that straps around a Kraan tail. The weapon can then be used in place of the beast’s normal attack or attacks if desired. When wielded, it gives the beast a tail attack and does 1d10 damage to this attack.
***dive attack***:Combines the effect of charge and leap attack, only the person attacked or those on the same SR can attack a diving creature. |
